GOD'S REST

1Up, O friends! and let us rise
To God who made the earth;
Let us lift our voices high
And let us rest in him.

2We have had our toil and care,
And our work and our rest;
Now let us seek him who is there,
The everlasting rest.

3Rest from earthly trouble here,
Rest from sin and care,
Rest from all that we hold dear,
Since God himself is there.

4Rest from all our earthly ways,
Rest in God's eternal love,
Rest through all our numbered days,
Rest in the home above.
