Like as a Father

1Like as a father pitieth
His children in distress,
So does the Lord pity them
That fear His holiness.

2For He doth know whereof we're made,
He knows that we are dust;
And like the flower of the field,
So shall our life be passed.

3The wind but over it doth pass,
And it away is gone,
And of the place where once it was
It shall no more be known.

4But yet the loving kindness of
The Lord forever stays
On them that fear Him and His truth
From generation to generation stays.
