Hymn 113
1COME, weary souls, with sin distressed,
The Saviour offers heavenly rest ;
Take up your cross, and follow him,
And cast your gloomy fears away.
2Oppressed with guilt, a painful load,
Oh, come and spread your griefs abroad ;
There's medicine in the Saviour's love,
Will all your maladies remove.
3Here mercy's boundless ocean flows,
To cleanse your guilt, and heal your woes ;
There peace and joy, and endless power,
How rich the gift, how free the grace !
4Lord, we accept, with thankful hearts,
The hopes thy gracious word imparts ;
We come to thee for pardoning peace,
And bless thy truth, inviting voice.
5Dear Saviour, let thy powerful love
Confirm our faith, our fears remove ;
And sweetly influence every breast,
And guide us to eternal rest.
