1Behold! I come! the Saviour cries, On wings of love I fly; So come, dear Lord, my soul replies, And bring salvation nigh.

2Come, plead thy truth's much-injured cause, And make thy glory shine; Come, vindicate thy righteous laws, And show thy power divine.

3With winged speed, Redeemer, dear, Bring on th' illustrious day; Let not our hopes give way to fear Beneath the long delay.
