Come, Holy Spirit, heav'nly Dove
1Come, Holy Spirit, heav'nly Dove,
With all thy quick'ning powers;
Kindle a flame of sacred love
In these cold hearts of ours.
2O raise our thoughts from things below,
From vanities and toys;
Then shall we with fresh courage go
To reach eternal joys.
3Awake our souls to joyful songs,
And let pure devotion rise;
Till praise employs our thankful tongues,
And sound forever dies.
4Father, we wait to feel thee live
At this poor, dying rate,
To find our bliss from thee we give,
For thine to us is great.
5Come, Holy Spirit, heavenly Dove,
With all thy quick'ning powers;
Come, shed abroad a Saviour's love,
And feed all mortal hours.
