Hour day! Jehovah's rest!

1Hour day! Jehovah's rest!
Of creation's work the best;
Last of all the chosen seven,
Blest of God, to man 'twas given.

2First his six days' work was done,
Then the Sabbath hour begun;
Thus he blessed the seventh day,
Thus in resting showed the way.

3While we praise our Maker's name,
We his faithful promise claim;
Meet we hear, Lord, we pray,
Thine own appointed way.

4Let thy Spirit on us shine,
Help us keep thy law divine;
Day by day thy name we love,
Shining lights, O Lord, for thee.
