Jesus, thy love shall we forget
1Jesus, thy love shall we forget, And hadst thou died for us in vain?
The grace that paid our hopeless debt, And bade us live to God again?
2Shall we the life of grief forget, Thy fasting and thy prayer,
Thy looks with mountain vapors wet, To save us from despair?
3Gethsemane can we forget, That struggling agony?
When night lay dark on Olivet, And none to watch with thee?
4Our sorrows and our sins were laid On thee, alone to thee;
Thy precious blood our ransom paid— Thine all the glory be!
