Blow the Trumpet
1Watchman, blow the gospel trumpet, Every soul a warning give; Sound it loud o'er every hill-top, Gloomy shade and sunny plain; Sound it in the hedge and high-way, In the dark spots where men roam; Sound it for the heavy-laden, Weary, longing to be free.
RefrainBlow the trumpet, trusty watchman, Blow it loud o'er land and sea; God commissions, sound the message! Every captive may be free.
2Who the gracious message May repeat, and turn and live. Ocean depths resound the message, Full salvation's glad refrain; Let it tell all things are ready, Father waits to welcome home; Sound salvation in salvation, Sweetly say sing, 'Come to me.'
3Blow the trumpet trusty watchman, Blow it loud o'er land and sea; God commissions, sound the message! Every captive may be free.
