As It Fell Upon a Night

1As it fell upon a night
In the winter weather,
Angels bright in starry height
Began to sing together:
Heard the King of Love most
Every one to sing together.

2Shepherds sleep- ing on the plain
Woke to see the glory;
All amazed they stood and gazed
And heard the wondrous story.

3Unto you a child is born
In a manger lowly;
Humble, yet born to be
The everlasting holy.

4Happy angels from afar,
Cease your singing never!
In ex- cel- sis glo- ri- a!
For- ever and forever.
