Eternal Depth of Love Divine

1Eternal depth of love divine,
In Jesus, God with us, displayed;
How bright Thy beaming glories shine!
How wide Thy healing streams are spread!

2With whom do we sweet counsel take?
To whom for succor shall we flee?
Our peace, our refuge whom but make,
Our friend, our comforter, but Thee?

3Thee will I love, my joy, my crown;
Thee will I love, my Lord, my God;
Thee will I love, beneath Thy frown
Or smile, Thy scepter or Thy rod.

4What though my flesh and heart decay;
Thee shall I love in endless day;
Then shall I see Thee as Thou art,
And love Thee with unsinning heart.
